Campaigning for my Dad

Lily Stevens Becker is Senator Stevens’ youngest daughter. She is on the trail until Election Day with her husband Preston and will be contributing to the campaign blog.
My Dad has asked me to represent him on the campaign trail and it is so good to be here with my husband, Preston. I have been introducing him to friends from all over the state with AFN in town.
As we travel around, I will be bringing you updates from the trail. Yesterday we were thrilled to meet Jackie Cleveland and her family. Jackie won this year’s Alaska Native TV video competition. You can check out her two winning entries and many others at www.alaskanativetv.com.
Later, we viewed the mask exhibit at the Anchorage Museum along with members of the Koniaq Inc. What an incredible exhibit! It may have been upstaged by the wonderful dancers who performed.
I look forward to seeing you all as we make our way around the state.

ADN – Stevens has supported veterans
I served in the U.S. Marine Corp. and pay attention to matters affecting all those who have served our country.
One of those who has looked out for our veterans for more than 40 years is Sen. Ted Stevens. Over the years, he has brought to Alaska more and better care so our veterans might be treated locally. On the GI Bill, it was Ted Stevens who stuck to his guns so that if the vet cannot use educational benefits, then a member of his or her family can.
Thanks, Sen. Stevens. We look forward to your continued service in the U.S. Senate as long as you want to be there.

Yesterday brought further proof that support for Senator Stevens keeps building as we get closer to Election Day. Yesterday’s lead comes from the same pollster who had the Senator 13 points down going into August. As of yesterday, it is a one point race, with Senator Stevens at 49% and the Mayor at 48%.
